Post subject:  Have the song, need the anime!

Hi! I am appealing to the all-knowing spirits inhabiting the world tree for answers to some burning questions! Please favor me with your knowledge and benevolence!

First, please forgive my cross-posting this question to both your music and anime forums, but it's really relevant to both!

I have an album I really like called "Key + Lia Best 2001 - 2010" I bought a couple of years ago at an anime convention. It's a Japanese import, so practically all text is in Japanese. One of my favorite tracks is track 5, "Spica". I'd really like to watch the anime this song is from, and find out more about it, but so far, I can't figure that out!

I won't bore you with the details, but I've looked in a number of places and tried several different types of google and other search engine searches with no luck.

If it helps, the "Key" is Key / Visual Arts, which among other recent anime provided us with "Angel Beats!" and "Charlotte".

Even here, with the impressively extensive listings, I couldn't find a song by Lia (or LiSA) that seemed right. Any thoughts?

My next possibility is to try to contact Key / Visual Arts directly, but I wanted to check here first, considering the size of the musical archive on this site.

Also, that brings me to my second question - are Lia and LiSA not the same person? They seem to sound the same, and LiSA definitely participated in the Girls Dead Monster (GLDEMO) / Angel Beats! albums and concerts - but the song "My Soul, Your Beats!" is credited to Lia! I'm confused!

Thanks for your help!

- Vince

I believe that some GIRLDEMO music was done by Lia, some by LiSA, and some by both, and that they're different people.

I'll see if I can figure out what anime, if any, that song is associated with. I suspect it's the B-side of an anime song but not associated with an anime.

Edit: "Spica" appears to be on a Lia maxi single along with two other tracks, "Hanabi" and "Moon." "Hanabi" is the 3rd ending theme for the 2013 anime series Little Busters! Refrain. It doesn't look like Spica is associated with that (or any other) anime, however.

Hi, Rick, thanks for your reply!

I'll have to adjust my brain to the idea that Lia and LiSA are two different people. You know how it is when you get something stuck in your head, even if it's wrong...{krik... krak...} ok, all better - for now!

In case it's any help, the track list for the "Key + Lia Best 2001 - 2010" album is (all typed as printed on album cover):
1. Natukage
2. nostalgia
3.Birthday Song, Requiem
4. (kanji - not translated)
5. Spica
6. Hanabi
7. Karma
8. Soldiers
9. doll
10. human
11. (kanji - not translated)
12. My Soul, Your Beats!
13. pierrot
14. Life is Like a Melody

In the accompanying booklet there are illustrations for each track. The illustration for "Hanabi" shows a young boy and girl with 3 cats in a brightly sunlit backyard / back porch area.
The illustration for "Spica" shows a young woman sitting astride an old-style motorcycle in a dark and foreboding landscape at dusk.

I would be happy to send you the "Spica" track by email or upload / ftp it to you if you want to see if you recognize it. Or for inclusion to the playlist, perhaps someone out there knows where it came from! I think it's really good so am happy to share!

Thanks again!

Ah, so it's this album: http://vgmdb.net/album/25395

According to that, Spica is still not associated with an anime.
